Todays 14% decrease in XP required is nothing compared to all increases they did with 7.3.5 and 8.0.1 directly or indirectly (through mob health). (proposed changes were meant for new players, but also affecting veterans for no good reason). To sum it up, leveling now is at least 300% slower than it was pre 7.3.5, without any compensation to veteran players from Blizzard
With 8.0.1 they buffed mobs health once more, making leveling completely impossible. They also buffed mobs health significantly in the process, that also resulted major increase in time to level. Op top of removal leveling options they also significantly increased (in many cases doubled) XP needed to each level, that wasn't even needed. dungeon boosting your low level chars with high level char.heirlooms that actually had a power over other items you can get at your level (i've spent tons of gold on them not to see them nerfed to uselessness).

You may remember the Recruit-a-Friend situation whereby it was the most efficient and cheapest to buy a new WoW license and level a character with Recruit-a-Friend bonuses, then transfer the character to your primary WoW license. I feel like this is a step in the right direction for new players however it's still not enough for veterans. It appears to be a ~14% reduction in XP required between level 60 and 80, with a slightly smaller reduction for levels lower than that. We'll have details in the next hotfixes update. Note that the new required amounts may not always display properly for the time being. We've pushed a hotfix that reduces the amount of XP needed for most levels between 40 and 100. Some minor profession adjustments in the same vain as last week where recipes were made accessible once again, but perhaps the biggest change is a nerf to XP required while leveling: A vast majority of these changes are class tweaks and world adjustments, with a couple of relevant updates and fixes to the gold-making community.
Hotfixes have been rolling out every day since the pre-patch launch. As the saying goes, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. I will be looking at the bigger picture, the decision making and thought processes in being a gold maker – rather than a step by step instructional list.
